Let’s meet your animal neighbours!

Did you know that it’s not only people who are your neighbours, but also animals?

There are dogs and cats who live in your neighbourhood, of course. There are also wild animals who live all around you.

Can you see anyone out a window?

If you have a yard, you could go out and look for your animal neighbours. Look up, look down, look all around. They might be shy, so make sure you’re quiet. You might need to be patient. They might even be watching you!

You can also listen for them. What do you hear? Can you go outside, close your eyes, and just listen.

Can a grownup or bigger traveler go on a little walk with you? Your animal neighbours might be nearby. Look up, look down, look all around. And always listen!

You don’t want to touch or chase your animal neighbours. It’s best to appreciate them from nearby and not get too close.
